Markets near Villa Almendros de Orba
A visit to a traditional Spanish street market is simply part of the holiday experience. You'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, local cheeses, olives, clothing, flowers, regional products and often plenty of cosy cafés and terraces. In and around Orba, there's a market to visit almost every day of the week.
Saturday - Orba – Les Mans de la Terra (15-minute walk)
Market hours: 09:00 – 14:00 (during summer there is sometimes an evening edition)
One of our personal favourites. This is not a regular street market, but a charming market where only local producers sell their products. Expect organic vegetables, cheese, olive oil, honey, wine, handmade products and local arts and crafts. There is often live music, creating a wonderful and authentic atmosphere.
Wednesday - Orba (500 metres – within walking distance)
Market hours: 08:30 – 13:30
The smallest market on this list, but that is exactly what makes it so charming. Within just a few minutes, you can walk from the villa to the centre of Orba. You'll find around 15 stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, shoes and a selection of local products. Perfect for a leisurely stroll followed by a coffee on the village square.

Monday - Dénia (25 minutes by car)

One of the largest and most popular markets on the Costa Blanca. You'll find hundreds of stalls selling clothing, bags, shoes, fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, nuts, cheeses and local delicacies. Perfect to combine with a walk through the historic centre or harbour.

Tuesday - Altea (40 minutes by car)
Market hours: 08:00 – 14:00
A charming market in one of the most beautiful coastal towns on the Costa Blanca. You'll find a lovely mix of clothing, bags, shoes, fresh local produce, flowers and regional delicacies. Combine your visit with a walk through the famous white streets of the old town and enjoy a terrace overlooking the sea.

Thursday - Jávea (30 minutes by car)

A lively market in Jávea's historic centre. You'll find fresh local produce, flowers, clothing and regional specialities. Afterwards, enjoy lunch in the old town or continue to the beach.

A lovely market close to the coast, offering a great mix of fresh produce, clothing, accessories, flowers and local delicacies. With its attractive promenade and many cafés, Moraira is an ideal destination for a relaxed Friday morning.

Saturday - Jalón / Xaló (10 minutes by car)
Market hours: 08:00 – 14:00
Probably the most famous market in the region. Its enormous Rastro flea and antiques market attracts many visitors every Saturday. You'll also find local produce, wines from the Jalón Valley, olives, nuts, clothing and all kinds of unique treasures. The many cafés make it perfect for a relaxed Saturday morning.

A large and lively market where many local residents do their weekly shopping. Besides fresh fruit, vegetables and regional products, you'll also find clothing, shoes, household goods and flowers. A great choice if you're looking for a larger traditional Spanish market.
